The reason why it’s our Orchid of the Week:

Cym. Kulnura Snow is a terrific bright clean white and is this week’s Orchid Wise Orchid of the Week.

Bred by Scott Barrie at Barrita Orchids, this is a flower I really like, and the yellow spotting on the lip is different, and the variation is good to see. We don’t always need red spotting on a labellum!

Pristine white’s are an extremely pretty flower, and this one is well worth a spot in your collection. Scott Barrie has managed to breed a few lovely whites in his time, but I think this would be one of my two favourites. There are several cultivars of this plant, and they are all pretty good!

I believe Cym. Kulnura Snow has been of Barrita Orchids’ most successful crosses. It produces pristine white flowers on long, tall spikes of up to 30 flowers from mature plants. It can flower from late Autumn to early spring depending on conditions.

On the pod parent side, we can find Cym. Culpaulin, Cym. Sussex Dawn and others, all very well known and successful Cyms. Also in the general background are Cym. Alexanderi and Cym. Pearl, just to name a few.

If you are in the market for Cym. Kulnura Snow, I’m sure Barrita Orchids would have some, given its prior popularity, so give them a call.
