This week’s Orchid of the week is… Cym. Lancashire Khan

Orchid of the Week - Cym. Lancashire Khan 'Debonair'
Orchid of the Week – Cym. Lancashire Khan ‘Debonair’

Parentage: This is a cross between Cym. Cronulla × Cym. Lancashire Rose

The reason why it’s our Orchid of the Week:

Quite by accident, this week’s Orchid of the Week is a descendant of last week’s Orchid of the Week – Cym. Sensation.

Bred by Greg Bryant, who has been responsible for some wonderful show bench Cymbidiums over the years. Bryants Orchids show no signs of slowing down, and are continually coming up with fantastic modern hybrids. You could easily fill your collection with any number of awesome Bryants Cyms!

The Bryants Orchids Facebook page is definitely worth a visit.

When grown well, Cym. Lancashire Khan is a terrific show bench orchid. And this week’s Lancashire Khan ‘Debonair’ was grown by a talented member of the local Cymbidium Orchid club of SA, who is always presenting great plants. This example winning Grand Champion at the 2022 Spring Show. These images have been kindly supplied by the grower for use in this article.

The latest Cymbidium hybrids from Bryants orchids can be purchased in flasks, from the Barrita Orchids website.

Looking back at the original species ancestors of Cym. Lancashire Khan, using Orchid Roots, Cym insigne and Cym. lowianum are the major contributors present in the distant background.
