This weeks Orchid of the week is… Cym. Darch Primary
Parentage: Cym. iridioides ‘Lansdale’ x Cym. munronianum
Registered: 2021
The reason why it’s our Orchid of the Week:
A new primary hybrid is not all that common these days, and this one comes from Ezi-Gro Orchids in Western Australia.
I obtained it as an un-flowered seedling in 2019 and flowered it in 2021, in order for it to be registered.
It is a compact plant with flowers about 5-6cm across so fits nicely into any small space! Something a little different!
Given this is a primary hybrid of two species plants there are no prizes for guessing it’s ancestry but images of the cross and the parents can be found at Orchid Roots.
