Here’s a truly gorgeous large yellow standard to brighten up the day—our pick for this week’s Orchid Wise Orchid of the Week!
As soon as I saw it featured in a Facebook post, it immediately caught my eye. Moreover, since yellow happens to be my wife’s favourite colour, I felt an even stronger pull toward this bloom.
While it may have a few minor imperfections, I genuinely love this flower. The vibrant yellow combined with a strikingly bright red lip creates a bold contrast. Additionally, the way the red spotting continues all the way around and travels up the throat only adds to its visual appeal for me. Altogether, it’s a standout bloom that brings a real sense of warmth and cheer.
You certainly wouldn’t miss this bloom from across the room on the show bench!
Cym. Full Moon has some very famous plants in its lineage, including Cym. Sirius, Cym. Sussex Dawn and Cym. Alnwick Castle. All plants I would love to own!
