The reason why it’s our Orchid of the Week:
Bryants Orchids are famous for producing large full bodied standard flowers on tall upright spikes and once again they deliver with a lovely green.
This time, a massive lip dominates the flower with a lovely speckled pattern in dark red. I’m not sure if this lip is too big, but it really is a bit over exaggerated. However, a lovely flower has resulted.
Cym. Green Jewel is a descendant of Cym. Kimberley Valley, and Cym. Allumination which were very popular greens here in Australia in years past.

Tracing the plant’s heritage using Orchid Roots, its primary species ancestors are Cym. insigne, Cym. lowianum and Cym. hookerianum.
