The reason why it’s our Orchid of the Week:
I really do love plants that have a high percentiage of Cym. ensifolium influence, and Cym. Peter Pan is a plant I own and like for its intermediate flower size and earlier blooming period. Using Cym. Peter Pan with another wonderful early flowering species plant, Cym. madidum has produced a very nice, cute result.

Originating with Geyserland, Andy Easton’s New Zealand operation back in the ’80’s, we can easily see both the Cym. madidum and Cym. Peter Pan influence in the flower Flowering in Autumn on arching spikes. it is a lovely flowering variety for those looking for something different, and early in the season when there are fewer plants in flower.

Tracing the plant’s heritage using Orchid Roots, its primary species ancestors are Cym. madidum, Cym. ensifolium and Cym. insigne.
