The reason why it’s our Orchid of the Week:
Brand new breeding this week from George Hatfield in the United States with another high percentage Cym. devonianum influenced Cymbidium. This species usually provides a strong cascading spike influence, and that is certainly true here!
George has done a lot of forward breeding with his recent years releases and continues to produce some really nice and appealing plants.
Cym. Honcho has a wonderfull long cascading spike habit, with this plant displaying approx. 18 lovely bright coloured flowers on the spike. The images here were taken from George’s Facebook post. George has said that there are a bunch of wonderful varieties from this grex, so contact him if you are after something new to add to your collection!
Tracing the plant’s heritage using Orchid Roots, its primary species ancestors are Cym. devonianum, Cym. insigne and Cym. floribundum.
