South Coast Orchid Club of South Australia Winter Show – Adelaide, July 2025
The 2025 South Coast Orchid Club of South Australia winter show on 12th July 2025 was again a relatively small affair this year, given it has been a difficult early/mid season here in Adelaide. This show falls right in the middle of an early flowering season for the winter species plants and the spring flowering plants, so it’s always a little difficult to have a mass of flowering plants.
This year the show was a little over represented by the diploids compared to normal years, not that I was complaining though! My favourite topic included some lovely plants, and below is a range of all of the plants on show…
Champions for the weekend were Cym. Death Wish ‘Speckled Spectre’ and Cym. Arachnid ‘Seaview’. There was also a very large specimen sized plant of Cym. Rosefieldense, one of my favourite Primary Hybrids.
The Cym. Cronulla Star x McClures Quest was another wonderful plant on show and very well grown. A fairly new addition to the Australian Cymbidium scene, this one has been popular so far!
